With your final step you eventually reach the point of where the Dragonic Runeblade: A Ghost Of Nightfall is supposed to be located. But in front of you there is only an open grass field as far as your eyes can see.
— “dAnkan, are you sure you read that map correctly, there is no way a legendary weapon is supposed to be hidden here. There is quite literally nothing here!” you say to dAnkan as you begin to question their quality as a companion.
— “I will have you know I am the best map reader in all the land of Yuletide, there is no map reading contest that I have not won.” dAnkan answers back with a huff. “If I say that this is the place, it is THE place!“.
You sigh as you begin walking once more, at least hoping that the map is correct about the location of the dragon’s fortress. After only a single step you step on something peculiar, a piece of wood and iron shaped like a lever is hidden in the tall grass. Intrigued by its randomness, you decide to pull it, despite what it might entail. Once pulled, the ground starts to shake violently as both you and dAnkan fall to the ground.
— “Was that an earthquack, or did you just fart? That really ruffled my feathers.” dAnkan says to you as they get back on their palmates.
— “Very funny dAnkan! No, I just found this random lever here in the grass, and you just now I love doing things before I think about the consequences. But look, there is a hole in the ground here. I can swear that it was not there before!” you answer back.
You walk over to the hole that the lever has revealed, thinking that maybe there is some loot hidden in there. As you get closer you can see that the hole is not just a hole, it is a staircase leading far far down into the depths of the ground beneath you. At the very top a small sign reads: “Back entrance to the dungeons of Airom, the source of the finest ores”.
— “I guess there was more than just an open grass field here. I will bet you 20 silver pieces that the Dragonic Runebade is down there! Ooohh, this is going to be so much fun!!!” dAnkan says while jumping up and down from excitement.
— “Whoa, calm your feathers dAnkan! We have no idea what might be hiding in this dungeon. I am guessing it is the work of dwarfs, so there most definitely be some sort of trap or contraption to keep outsiders away. We better be careful.” you say. But dAnkan, not listening to a word you are saying, heads down into the depths. “Wait for me dAnkan, we are a party for quack’s sake.”.
